STELLA McCARTNEY: AN ODE TO NATURE AND SUSTAINABILITY IN FASHION

British designer Stella McCartney has once again surprised at Paris Fashion Week with her Summer 2025 collection, a true manifesto in favour of sustainability and the protection of nature. Under the slogan «Save What You Love», inspired by the book by Jonathan Franzen, McCartney has created a collection that is not only visually stunning, but also a call to action to take care of our planet.

A fashion show with a clear message

With Helen Mirren’s voice as narrator, the show was an immersive experience that conveyed McCartney’s passion for nature and commitment to sustainable fashion. Models carrying Stella Times newspapers reported on the collection and introduced Stella Ryder, the brand’s new icon.

Innovation and sustainability hand in hand

The collection stands out for its innovative use of sustainable materials:

  • Hydefy: A pioneering material based on fungi and derived from sugar cane, used in a silver edition of the Stella Times newspapers.
  • Cloud-shaped knitted fabrics: Made from recycled and recyclable nylon yarn, regenerated from plastic bottles and caps.
  • Gold and silver doves: Hand carved from reused medical and electronic waste, in collaboration with 886 by The Royal Mint.

Elegance and sustainability

Despite its focus on sustainability, the collection does not forgo the elegance and sophistication for which the brand is known. Classic Stella McCartney codes, such as Savile Row tailoring, chiffon fabrics and pleated dresses, are reinvented with sustainable materials and vibrant colours. Hand-painted dove prints add a poetic and delicate touch to the garments.

By using innovative materials and environmentally friendly production processes, the British designer inspires others to follow her example and build a more sustainable future for the fashion industry.
